In 2018, I chose “joy” as my word to focus on throughout the year, and thank you, Lord, for all the ways You brought that one to life….

SO MUCH in between!
While we slept less in 2018, we found our groove as a family of 4 the past year, and I’m so grateful for it. Mainly, the Lord helped me see the joy that seeps out of the most simple moments and it’s a lens I hope to keep looking through going forward.
Looking back at how much God taught me with JOY, I was hopeful a word would stand out for me to focus on in 2019. For weeks I tried to keep my eyes and eyes and heart open for words that I felt God was asking me to look at closely. I even went to this Word of the Year Generator to see what would pop up! Alas, “look” didn’t really seem to click with me. But please try it and tell me what you get! :)
As I worked through my Powersheets, it became clear that what I was really hoping for in 2019 was to keep up with my “best-self” routines. I’m praying that this year, I stick with the habits I know are good for my family/friends/self with confidence and gratitude. That' said, steadfast is my word for 2019.
Some of my fave steadfast verses that inspire me:
“Those of steadfast mind you keep in peace—-in peace because they trust in you.” Isaiah 26:2
“Therefore, my beloved, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord, because you know that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” Corinthians 15:58
“We have this hope, a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters the inner shrine behind the curtain, where Jesus, a forerunner on our behalf, has entered, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” Hebrews 6:19-20
So there we go! I hope to share more about this word and how it’s impacting me throughout the year. If you have word for 2019, I would LOVE to hear it below! Happy new year!
