Friends, today is a fun day! It's PowerSheets launch day, and if you don't know what I'm talking about, you're in the right place. If you do know what I"m talking about, can you join me with the praise hands right now? I'm going to break down why I love this tool and how I use 'em, so LET'S GO.
So, what are these Powersheets you speak of?
The Powersheets Intentional Goal Planner is a goal setting workbook that helps you uncover your biggest priorities, navigate the distractions, articulate what direction you want to head and MAKE those important things HAPPEN. And they are as helpful and encouraging as they sound! You vision cast for the upcoming year, reflect and reset goals each month, and check in with progress daily using this workbook. What you end up with are clear goals and the motivation to work towards them every day. This kind of consistency is priceless, especially when you feel like there just aren't enough hours in the day. I've used them for the past few years and am a big-time, loyal fan.
What's makes them so great?
Powersheets focus my heart on the good stuff. They encourage me to look at my year, month, week, and day with hope and direction. My favorite pages in the whole workbook are the "Tending Lists" that allow you to fill out specific monthly/weekly/daily goals, and then mark off your progress as you go. Friends, this is where the good stuff happens. Personally, over the past 16 months, my schedule has been totally rearranged thanks to the arrival of our sweet little guy, and I can honestly say I feel more focused than ever despite the dramatic decrease in business time. I attribute that focus to first of all, the grace and provision of the Father, who in His goodness always gives more than what I can ask or hope. One of the tools I know He's put on my path is the Powersheets, which allows me to write all my well-intentioned goals and get moving! Knowing I"m about to enter into a whole new season with a newborn again at the start of 2018 only makes me even more thankful for my Powersheets!
How are you actually using these in your everyday life?
Like you, life for me seems to move so fast. I am a full-time stay at home mom with a creative business that run in the hours I'm not wearing my mom hat. (This post is being written during a naptime hustle session!) But here's how I do it:
I take a week or two at the end of the year and do prep work for the upcoming year! It's FUN and also the best, meaningful kind of work. I look forward to working through during the hustle and bustle of the holidays, just ask my husband! It's something we schedule into our lives because we know the fruit that comes out of it in the following year!
For my monthly goal setting, I typically sit down the last weekend of the month on a Sunday and reflect on what goals I want to carry over, add, or nix all together based on my overall hopes and vision for the year.
For daily goal check-ins, I keep my Tending List tucked in with my devotional journal and include it in my morning prayer/journal/reading routine, so I can remember what I'm hoping to accomplish that day, and most importantly, pray for the discipline to do the work I'm called to do! This part of my day is precious to me. I should also add, this is when I check off what I finished the day before, and it's an awesome reminder to be grateful for things completed and pray about areas of weakness where I feel like no progress is being made. I should add, I wake up early to make sure I do this first thing and before Gus wakes up, and if I can't make that happen, it's the first thing I do during his naptime.
Ok wait, so these are only for business-y people?!
NOPE. While I definitely use them for biz stuff, you better believe creating memories with my family, developing deeper relationships with my friends, cultivating a more meaningful spiritual life and having FUN are all goals of mine! And casting those visions are just as important to me as the Lettered Life focused ones! If you are a student, mom, not a mom, grandma, not a grandma, corporate gal, stay at home gal, work from home lady, or human being, (did I miss anyone?), I recommend these Powersheets wholeheartedly!
Mk, I would like some right now. Where do I get these bad boys?
Just go here! I'm crazy about the "2018 PowerSheets One Year Intentional Goal Planner", but I'm sure the undated 6 month set would be just as helpful. (I just like having all my thoughts for the year in one handy place.) My biggest suggestion would be to get them now, as these babies sell like hotcakes for good reason, and flip through them to get familiar with the set-up. Pencil in "Powersheets Prep Work" for the end of December and brace yourself for all the goodness! The Cultivate What Matters team also does an amazing job walking you through how to use them and usually has tips and videos for how to get the most out of your sheets, especially as December comes to a close. LOVE the team behind this product and I'm certain you will too!
Anything else I should know?
There's affiliate links in here, and I want to say that so you're aware. Would I be writing this if I didn't have affiliate links? You bet! It brings me joy to share things that make my life more intentional, and Powersheets are right up that alley. I've had the pleasure of knowing Lara for almost 5 years thanks to the Making Things Happen conference, and I love cheering her and her team on. I hope you'll join me in loving their amazing resources. If you have any questions at all---holla atcha girl! I'd love to answer them!
